The US vaccination drive has reached a spectacular remark to date. It is because at least 50% of the adult population in half of US states has received a vaccine. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Washington, DC along with 25 other US states have fully vaccinated at 50% of their adult population.
CDC officials have said that the rate of vaccination in the US has been impressive. They have added that the mission has not been completed till now. It needs to keep going so as to make the entire US Covid-19 free. According to the CDC data, around 61.3% of American adults have been subjected to at least one Covid-19 jab.
Besides, there are approximately 49.6% of adults who are fully vaccinated across the US. The data further details that over 49% of the country’s total population has received at least one jab. Whereas over 39% of the US population is fully vaccinated.
Decrease in Infections
The rate of infections and deaths has decreased significantly due to the high vaccination speed. As compared to a few weeks earlier, the last week saw a big decline in the number of Covid-19 infections. According to officials, the US is seeing a very less number of Covid-19 cases as compared to earlier this year.
The names of the US states that have vaccinated at least 50% of their adult population are California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts, Alaska, Colorado, Nebraska, New Hamshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Virginia, Washington state, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Delaware, Iowa, Maine, etc.
The number of deaths and the new serious coronavirus illnesses have come down at a fast rate. It would reduce even more if the vaccination drive speed is increased in the future. Since most of the adult population is covered in the vaccination process, only younger people are now receiving new infections.
And this is not a high-risk situation for the US healthcare system. It is the reason the hospitalization rate in the country has come down drastically. Former FDA Commissioner, Dr. Scott Gottlieb has issued an important statement related to the requirements of children to wear masks.
Scott Gottlieb expressed that CDC must allow children to go for summer camps without wearing masks. However, he has expressed that they still need to have face masks when they are going out in public. Since there is no vaccine for children below 12, they need to wear face masks in crowded places as earlier
