US President Joe Biden is expected to take a strong stance against China on the second day of the G7 Summit. As per the information obtained from his close aide, he is about to urge the Western countries to form a new alliance against China.
Biden’s concern on this subject is due to the uncontrolled expansion of China in developing countries. China is focusing on infrastructural development in developing countries to spread its reach to new domains.
Aside from it, Joe Biden will stress the need to form a strong system to combat future pandemics effectively. The US and its partners have blamed China for forced labor and human rights violations in Xinjiang province.
The three-day G7 Summit is going on at the seaside resort of Carbis Bay in Cornwall. UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson is the host of this international event.
Challenging the Growing Influence of China Globally
In the US, officials believe Saturday’s session at G7 will challenge China’s influence around the world. China is focusing on growing its influence at a global level. For this, it is focusing on infrastructural development in developing countries.
But the US and other Western Countries have raised questions about China’s policy. They say China is progressing at the cost of human rights violations. The news of human rights violations of Uyghur Muslims is surfacing on the internet.
Besides, they blame China for forcing Uyghur Muslims into forced labor activities in infrastructural development activities. Moreover, Western democracies have already countered Beijing’s Belt-and-Road initiative.
Until now, the Biden administration is unclear about the expected contribution of the Western countries in developing global infrastructure. However, it is clear that the West will come together to stop China’s growing powers. The motive behind it is to present a positive alternative to the world.
Earlier this year, Western countries have already sanctioned China for its forced human rights violation of Uyghur muslims. Under the imposed sanctions, travel bans and seizure of assets of senior Chinese officials count.
Western countries are blaming China for carrying out systemic rapes, serious crimes, and torture of detianees in camps.
A Strong Action Plan to Combat Future Pandemics
G7 leaders are also pondering over planning to combat future pandemics. They have decided to introduce a stronger global surveillance system to prevent a global crisis like Covid-19.
Besides, they have decided to slash Covid-19 diagnosis and treatments to 100 days. Additionally, they have also asked for improving genome sequencing capacity and strengthening the World Health Organization.
