Murder
A 2004 film in the genre of romantic thriller, the director as well as the writer of this film was Anurag Basu. Mukesh Bhatt and Mahesh Bhatt are the producers of this film. It was released on the 2nd of April 2004.
The film’s story is about a woman named Simran who is married. However, her husband indulges himself in a lot of work and is unable to take out much time for his wife. Simran becomes bored of her life, and involves herself in an affair with her ex-boyfriend, Sunny, from college days. When Simran’s husband, Sunny, feels suspicious about her affair, he hires a private detective to know about it.
An interesting, thrilling movie with great direction, the reason why I added this to the list of movies on extramarital affairs. In the year of its release, it was the ninth highest-grossing film of the year. The movie received mixed reviews from critics.

Silsila
It is a movie based on the genre of romantic drama. The movie was released on the 14th of August 1981. Yash Chopra was the director as well as the writer for this film.
The story is about a man named Amit who gets married to her brother’s fiance as his brother passed away in an accident. Amit sacrifices his love life for this. However, he has no control over fate which brings him to his love. Unable to give up on his feelings for her love, he ends up being in an extramarital affair.
This movie was a flop at the box office in the first week of its release. Critics mentioned that the storyline is cliche and makes no sense. However, the reason why I added this one to the list of movies on extramarital affairs is that this film is one of the first attempts of the Bollywood industry to make movies in this genre.
I personally liked the direction, the performance of the cast, and the fact that the film threw light on an extramarital affair. It is not easy to forget the love of one’s life. At the same time, it is not easy to maintain a relationship that did not begin with the essence of love.
The same thing happened with Amit in this film. It is a very nice portrayal of human feelings and how the attachment to one’s love does not allow us to move on with our new relationships.
The Cast of this Film is:
- Amitabh Bachchan as Amit Malhotra
- Jaya Bachchan as Shobha Malhotra
- Rekha as Chandni
- Shashi Kapoor as Shekhar Malhotra
- Sanjeev Kumar as Dr. V. K. Anand
- Sudha Chopra as Shobha’s mother

Her husband, on the other hand, is in an affair with a girl in his office. Shikha gets attracted to a theatre artist who struggles to make a great career for himself. Watch out for the full film to see how the characters link when a man named Rahul rents out couples having affairs.
The whole film revolves around nine characters. Life in a Metro is a great film that shows how the characters in the story learn the value of love, suffer heartbreaks and proceed with their journey in life. This movie was semi-hit and had mixed reviews from critics. It was the 26th highest grosser film in the year of its release.

After not getting a response about the lunch from her husband, she sent a note the other day with the lunch box, which starts with a friendship between Saajan and Ila where they talk about their sorrow and life via notes.
